  Garland Ranch Regional Park is a great spot for leisure hikers desiring
an afternoon in the great outdoors. At Garland Ranch, breathtaking views
lie around every corner with trails varying from easy to strenuous. Notable features of the park include the Carmel River, Garzas Creek, a redwood canyon and a charming waterfall. Historic buildings dot the park allowing visitors to experience Carmel Valley as it once was.

  Garrapata State Park consists of two miles of beach front, with coastal
hiking and a 50-foot climb to a beautiful view of the Pacific. The park
features trails running from beaches into redwood groves & outstanding coastal headlands as well as resident Sea Lions, Harbor Seals and
Sea Otters & an occasional pod of California gray whales passing close
to shore during their yearly migration.

  Used as a loading point for tanbark around the turn of the nineteenth
century, Partington Cove's history comes alive as you walk through the
60 foot tunnel and pop out in a secluded cove. A quick and steep hike
takes you down through a tree-lined canyon to a scenic rocky beach
and through a rustic tunnel leading to Partington Cove.
